Naturally inspired

At Heraklith® we are committed to pushing the boundaries of sustainability at every level.

Whether it relates to responsible resourcing, reusing resources, reducing noise pollution or ensuring that our Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are the best possible, you can always be assured that Heraklith® and Heraklith® Wood Wool products are leaders in eco-responsibility.

Made mainly from natural raw materials, Heraklith® Wood Wool panels meet the highest standards for sustainability and low environmental impact.

We mostly use wood certified by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), which is an internationally renowned labelling scheme, recognised by the LEEDv4 Green Building Rating System.

Environmental Product Declarations

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are available for all our Heraklith® products showing their environmental impact based on independently produced Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs). Every environmental aspect of our products’ lives is covered from the sourcing of raw materials, manufacture, transportation and use, to ultimate disposal.

The use of wood wool contributes positively to the building ratings of various environmental schemes and our commitment to sustainability is underlined by Blue Angel certification, the world’s oldest eco-label.

We also ensure that we reuse resources wherever possible. Insulation materials, such as EPS and mineral wool that are used for the core of some of our products, are either returned to the original supply companies for reuse or, in the case of mineral wool, removed and fed back into the production process at our plants.
